PARPALLÓ CAVE
VISIT THE ORIGINS OF PREHISTORIC ART
Located within the Parpalló-Borrell municipal nature area, the Parpalló Cave is one of the most important Upper Paleolithic sites from the last known ice age.
The Parpalló Cave has given us an outstanding collection of Palaeolithic objects, with over 5,000 stone plaques engraved and painted with animal, plant and geometric motifs, among others. This is ancient site where various family groups in this territory gathered during the fall and winter to share knowledge, hunt, take shelter from the cold and practice exogamy. Many of the discoveries from this site can be seen at the MAGa.
Reserve and/or purchase your entry tickets in the “On-line reservations” section of the Tourism website.
